Look for the HOWTO for using bash, it talks about setting up text colours and stuff.

Hey, can someone tell me the easiest way to use text colors in UNIX/LINUX. Are the ANSI escape sequences built into the OS, or is it like with DOS where you have to include a file (ANSI.SYS) ?

thanks...

Text colors in Unix/Linux are usually done through the ncurses libs...check out the ncurses to mess with colors, if you are running linux then goto /usr/doc/ and check out the ncurses dir..if ya have any questions finding it, e-mail me at dieraxx@stega.smoky.org
