I know that I sound like a spammer, but you really have to try out Udemy. They have courses on all kinds of game development. I bought a few on sale, and they are extremely useful. I recommend Unreal Engine 5, using its Blueprints system of “coding”.

This is way off topic. The OP asked about finding a mentor, not educational resources. And he's probably a student in a game program.
