In collaboration with game designer American McGee, best known for his “Alice” series of games, Manticore Games is launching “Through The Looking Glass,” an Alice in Wonderland-themed 3D art contest that will run during May.
American McGee has provided concept art (seen here) to inspire contestants as they work to create scenes and environments using Core, a super-fast and agile free platform for making and playing games.
Contestants can use thousands of Core’s free assets, ranging from simple primitive shapes to complex materials and intricate props, and combine them to make new ones in order to capture the beauty and horrors of what awaits Alice as she tumbles down the rabbit hole.
Winners will be announced on June 5, with prizes ranging from thousands of dollars in Amazon cash, to American McGee-signed concept art, to a full portfolio review from Core’s lead artists.
For more information about the contest and how to sign up, please visit artcontest.coregames.com.
